Concrete International recently published notice of the passing on March 29, 2009 of our colleague and SCP member, James A. Ray, at age 78. After a distinguished career in industry Jim founded his own petrographic consulting company, James A. Ray Corp. in Mantua, Ohio.

We were informed by Timo Nijland that our colleague and SCP member Dr. Joe Larbi of TNO in the Netherlands passed away the week of June 15, 2009. Joe was an active contributor to Euroseminar on Microscopy of Building Materials and ICMA, as well as many other venues.
